What are we, retarded? How can Americans be scared of nuclear energy? This is the ultimate cost of a superstition-based approach to life in general and energy policy in particular.
Why does everyone hate me?
Netscape is evil because it is huge and bloated and purveys nonstandard extensions to Internet standards on the unsuspecting user community. Nevertheless, I identify with Netscape. Like Netscape, I am huge and bloated, and I, too, have my uses.
In particular, there is the evil background color tag, which lets people turn my beautiful session into a horrifying array of disgusting, light colors and interference stereograms. I really want to kill whoever added that one. It takes forever to load, and then turns my Netscape white! Evil. It took me forever to get my Netscape black again, permanently.
Oh, and I almost forgot the blinking text. I can't believe anyone would want anything to blink anywhere on their screen unless it warns them of grave danger to their life. If you know how to turn these things off, please let me know, so I can use Netscape. My friends all pick on me for using Lynx.
Moving on, my hatred of Microsoft abates gradually, fading into simple avoidance. However, there is still a loathsome Nature that their products exude. My friend Jason characterized it by saying that they add wonderful features to their software and then throw away the generalizations. It may all be part of their corporate strategy for world domination.
I loath gratuitous complexity everywhere, especially in user interfaces, operating systems, and programming languages, which are supposed to be empowering abstractions. I fear that my attitude is childish, but so is yours, and your mother dresses you funny.
The whining continues here.
